Sunday 30th November
14:1 Straight Pool Tournament
On Sunday, Mickey Flynn's hosted one of the UK's first ever 14:1 Straight Pool competitions.
For those of you who have never played before, Straight Pool is a very popular game across Europe and Asia played on a standard American pool table. The object of the game is to pocket as many balls as you can, in any order, in any pocket. The player at the table leaves the last ball on the table, the other balls are re-racked and then the last ball is pocketed, using the cue ball to break the pack up. Each ball is worth 1 point and the game is played first to 100 points.
A star studded field turned up for this exciting event. Snooker star Tony Drago, European No.1 Mark Gray, UK No.1 Imran Majid, Captain of Team Europe Alex Lely, Dutch Legend Rico Diks as well as home favourites Mickey Lambert and Ricardo Jones were amongst the 32 names in the draw.
